Health & Safety Program Manager
Business Unit: GE HealthcareFunction: EHSResponsibilities: * Develop global programs, tools and training to assist site EHS
managers in ensuring compliance with legal requirements,
implementing GE H&S programs, meeting business expectations and
ensuring continuous improvement
Provide technical and compliance support to site EHS managers; assist
in responding to significant incidents and government requests/notices
Conduct compliance and program audits of manufacturing sites and
service operations; coach site EHS personnel on successful closure of
findings/recommendations
Evaluate level of GE and GEHC EHS program implementation and
performance against goals for assigned operations and provide
feedback to help operations improve EHS results
Mentor EHS professionals at assigned operations to build leadership and
technical EHS skills to improve individual performance
Coach operations leaders to enable them to successfully discharge their
leadership responsibilities for H&S

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related
discipline and 10 plus years H&S compliance and program experience at
a large corporation as a individual contributor on the business or
division EHS staff or lead EHS professional with multiple direct reports
at a major manufacturing site or equivalent level of consulting firm
experience.
Strong background in U.S. H&S regulations and standards, experience
in auditing and in preparing government submissions.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and program and project
management skills. Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality work in
a timely fashion.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with and
communicate effectively to shop floor employees, senior operations
managers and other EHS professionals.
Solid leadership, networking, team building and influencing skills.
Between 20-50% travel, primarily in North America but some
international travel anticipated.
Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and willing to learn
GE specific database and web applications.Desired: * Masters degree or technical H&S certification (CIH, CSP, CPE); six
sigma green belt (GE only)
Experience with OSHA VPP or other H&S excellence certification
programs, SGE qualification
