Group Majors Manager

The Group Majors Manager is responsible for managing the efforts of sales and service for group major accounts across the state. The group majors manager provides overall leadership and guidance for the sales team including day-to-day management of their assigned accounts. The manager will be responsible for analyzing results daily, weekly and monthly to determine strengths, weaknesses and opportunities in the market to maximize revenue potential, preparing specific goals and objectives for the Group Major’s sales department, and establishing promotional and sales efforts for growing advertising revenues and increasing market share.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will have in-depth knowledge of all facets of advertising sales and marketing. Must have working knowledge of the various departments within a newspaper and ability to develop working relationships with all levels. Must demonstrate excellent people, management and sales skills and have the ability to plan, organize and set goals with strong time management skills. Also, must be able to multi-task, with excellent presentations skills and be able to clearly communicate plans and information in both group and one-on-one meetings. In addition, must have thorough knowledge of the market and able to work independently, be computer literate and have a working knowledge of marketing databases. College degree or equivalent work experience of 3 – 5 years in management or major accounts interaction required.
